As an acknowledgement of the power and effectiveness of mediation the Federal Magistrates Court in Brisbane now directs parties to private medation of property settlement applications before trial directions are made. The Federal Attorney General  announced in 2010 that it would become compulsory to mediate property matters before court proceedings can be commenced, as in children's matters but of course we are still waiting for that to be implemented.

• What experience do they have? 
• How many mediations have they actually conducted? 
• How much training have they undergone? 
• What experience do they have in the specialised area of Family Law?
